In the working groups and communities of practice we join, we're hearing similar challenges from people throughout the FP/RH community: that with the urgency of COVID-19, it's been a struggle to access policymakers and to position family planning once we're finally in front of them.

The question is, now that there are so many other needs, how do you explain why family planning and sexual and reproductive health matters at this moment? Our pick this week was chosen with this challenge in mind.

Safeguarding Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Join the Center for Global Development on June 3 at 9:30am ET for a webinar on the anticipated effects of COVID-19 on access to family planning and sexual and reproductive health as a whole.

Panelists include Salma Anas-Kolo, head of the Department of Family Health for Nigeria, and the discussion will cover:

barriers to service provision and access that may be amplified by COVID-19, particularly for marginalized groups
how low- and middle-income country policymakers can reinforce the importance of sexual and reproductive health as essential healthcare, now and after the pandemic
possible mitigation strategies to protect hard-won gains for women and girls
